The Western Wall In Jerusalem

Western Wall In Jerusalem

People from all over the world come to pray at the Western Wall (aka, the Wailing Wall) in the city of Jerusalem. This wall was not a part of the Second Temple itself but rather it was the retaining wall of the Temple Mount. Throughout the generations Jews have come to this wall to shed tears and grieve for the Temple that was destroyed in 70 A.D. by the Romans. Cracks in the wall are often stuffed with written prayers. The Wailing Wall is also known as the Western Wall.
