Many congregations prepare a small pamphlet or packet to give to adults who visit their services, to welcome them and to let them know what they can expect during the worship service, but what about the children?
This little coloring book helps children (and their parents) see what we do during our worship service. Each page depicts one of the five parts of the church's Sunday worship service: singing, praying, the Lord's Supper, Bible reading, and preaching. Each page also includes Bible references, giving a book, chapter, and verse(s) for why we do what we do.
Once you download the PDF, you can print the pages one-sided only (for an 8-page book) or double-sided (for a 4-page booklet). There is a box on the last page where you can write in, stamp, or apply a sticker showing your congregation's address and contact information. Print what you need for your congregation, and when you run out, you can print more, so you always have some booklets available to hand out.
Suggestion: You can search online retailers to find small packets of crayons (in bulk) to hand out with the printed coloring books.
The Coloring Book For Children Who Visit Our Worship Services is an 8-page booklet by Catharine Fairchild. This booklet may be reprinted for use in local congregations (PDF file size: 550k).
